How to use the Pearson RBANS assessments on Coviu

Coviu has partnered with Pearson Clinical to provide a fully integrated, digital version of the RBANS Assessment tools for use in your Coviu account.

  • This App is available to all Coviu plans.
  • If you are on a custom Enterprise plan, please speak to your organisation Telehealth Coordinator or your Coviu account representative about having this tool added to your account.
  • To add this tool to your Coviu account, you must be a Coviu account administrator.

What is RBANS?

The RBANS Assessment provides a brief, individually administered battery to measure cognitive decline or improvement across 5 domains:

  1. Immediate Memory – List learning and Story Memory
  2. Visuospatial/Constructional – Figure Copy and Line Orientation
  3. Language – Picture naming and Semantic Fluency
  4. Attention – Digit Span and Coding
  5. Delayed Memory – List Recall, List Recognition, Story Memory, and Figure Recall

How do I install Pearson RBANS?

  1. Log in to your Coviu account as you normally would. If you do not yet have an account, you can sign up here.
  2. Once logged in to your account, Click APPS in the left hand menu. If you can't see the Apps menu, then you are not the Administrator for your Coviu account)
  3. Click Find Apps on the right hand side. This will take you to Coviu’s App marketplace. Alternatively, you can click here to be taken directly to the Marketplace.
  4. Once in the marketplace, find the RBANS-A, B, C and D and select the option you would like.

  5. Click on the RBAN you would like to add, you will then be taken to a screen that will give you important information regarding the App E.g Pricing etc.
  6. Click Install now

  7. It will then take you to a screen that says Installation SuccessfulRBANS Installation Success
  8. Click the View Account button to return to Coviu or click the relevant browser tab if it is already open.

How do I Configure Pearson RBANS?

  1. Return to your Coviu account
  2. Click APPS in the left-hand menu (if you can't see the Apps menu then you are not the Administrator for your Coviu account).
  3. Scroll down under your installed Apps to see the RBANS-A, B, C or D .
  4. Click on the Details option on the right-hand side adjacent to the App you have installed.

  5. In the pop-up window that opens, click the Configure tab and enter your Pearson Member ID here.
    1. There are three ways you can find your Pearson Member ID:
      1. You would have received an email from Pearson which includes your Pearson Member ID
      2. Reach out to Pearson on Live-chat (‘Chat with an expert pop-up box’ ) located on the bottom right-hand side of their website
      3. Contact Pearson Clinical Assessments client services. Australia: 1300 4 PEARSON (1300 473 277) New Zealand: +64 9886 9536
  6. Before saving, you will see 3 check boxes asking for:
        • Consent for Pearson to view your Pearson customer number + Coviu account details in order to confirm your eligibility to deliver Pearson tests.
        • Consent for Pearson to potentially contact you to ask about your experience with Pearson tests on Coviu.
        • Acknowledge that you are qualified to deliver Pearson assessments.
        • We kindly ask you to select all.RBANS Consent Checkboxes
  7. Click Save. You have now installed and configured the RBANS App.

    How do I use the RBANS APP?

    1. Enter your call with your client as you normally would.
    2. Once in the call, click the Tools+ button on the top right part of the screen.
    3. Scroll down the Tools menu and click on the RBAN Assessment tool.

      Using the RBANS Addon

    4. If you would like to lock the Tools+ menu so your client can't access it during the assessment, tick the Make tools view-only for guests tick box at the top of the  menu, or visit this help article for more information.
    5. You can now begin your assessment. 
      • To navigate between pages, select the section you want to display from the dropdown menu or click the arrows in the toolbar to change the page number. 
      • When the assessed child clicks items on the page, you will see the numbered, tracked markers to review their interactions. 
      • To clear the child’s markers, click the icon with a person outline and an ‘x' displayed.

    What if I need to Uninstall it?

    Follow these instruction if you wish to uninstall the RBANS Apps. The below instructions show the WIAT-III however the instructions are the same.

    1. Log into you Coviu account as you normally would.
    2. Click APPs in the left hand menu (if you can't see the Apps menu, then you are not the account administrator)
    3. Scroll down to find the WIAT-III App in the list.

    4. Click the Details button.
    5. Click the red UNINSTALL button.
    6. Click the second UNINSTALL button to confirm the action.
