Overview of Data and Security for AI Scribe

This article explains how Coviu ensures security and compliance for AI Scribe.

Who can access notes

Only the host who starts AI Scribe can access the generated notes. They are not visible to patients or to other members of the clinic. You are in control of your notes and only you can access and see them. You can delete your notes at any time.

How data is stored and encrypted

AI Scribe is powered by enterprise-grade models that have been reviewed against Coviu’s compliance standards, including ISO 27001 and HIPAA. None of the data processed by these models is retained or used for training purposes. All information is protected with end-to-end encryption, both while in transit and at rest.

Speaker separation and transcription accuracy

AI Scribe includes functionality to identify and separate different speakers during a consultation. While this feature is continuously improving, accuracy is best achieved when the audio is clear, background noise is kept to a minimum, and only one person speaks at a time.

Regional considerations

  • In Australia, all processing occurs entirely within Coviu’s own infrastructure.
  • In the United States, transcription is temporarily processed via a secure third-party service hosted within the US before being summarised in Coviu.
