Dear {insert your client or patient name},

Our practice is now using a video telehealth platform called Coviu!

What do I need to join a video consultation?

Coviu is web-browser-based; no software or app installation is required! Coviu's invitation link runs on Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Safari web browsers and can be used on any device.

How do I connect?

Simply click the Join the call link in your Coviu invitation email at the time of your consultation and Coviu will open in your chosen web browser. Once opened, you will be asked to identify yourself and placed virtually in a Coviu Waiting Room until your provider is ready to join you. Click here for more information about this step.

What about my internet connection?

We recommend using a reliable internet connection for your upcoming consultation. A home Wi-Fi or a good 4G/5G mobile connection is great! Please note that other online activities, such as video streaming services, computer games, etc. can highly impact your internet connection. They can limit your ability to connect successfully with your provider for your consultation.

Please ensure your device's camera and microphone are working correctly; you can test them using Coviu's Pre-call Test here.

Please have your mobile phone nearby so we can contact you in case of any technical difficulties that may arise.

What are some tips for the best experience?

Your video consultation experience will be best if we:

  • Ensure we have a private, quiet and dedicated place for our meeting.
  • Ensure we have all we need nearby, e.g. notes, books, pads, pens and a drink.
  • Remove distractions; ensure that the TV, radio or other computer applications are turned off.
  • Have had a few minutes to prepare ourselves before the meeting so that we are relaxed and focused, not rushed with scattered thoughts.
  • Consider this a normal appointment (i.e. the same as visiting a GP, Dentist or other healthcare professional in their physical office). We would not wear our pyjamas to an appointment (though we might like to), so let's keep the space professional.

Is Coviu safe and is my data secure?

Coviu is a safe and secure environment! No data being exchanged in a Coviu call is saved, unless you consent to it. Your Coviu call is encrypted between you and your provider; this means no one can ever listen to a Coviu call without permission.

What if I need help?

Please call us before your consultation on {insert your phone number} if you have further questions or queries about the information above.

We look forward to caring for you in the future.

Kind regards,

{insert your name and signature block}
