The below email will be quite long so feel free to chop out the bits you don't feel you'll need.

Dear {insert patient name},

Our practice is now using a video Telehealth platform called Coviu!

What do I need to join a video consultation?

Coviu is web browser based, which means that no software or app instalment is required! Coviu's invitation link runs on Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Safari web browsers and can be used on any device!

How will I connect in?

Simply click on the Coviu invitation link at the time of your consultation and Coviu will open in your chosen web browser. Once opened, you will be able to identify yourself and be placed virtually in a Coviu Waiting Room until your practitioner is ready to join you. Please find our help article here for more information about this step.

What about my internet connection?

We recommend using a reliable internet connection for your upcoming call. Being connected to your home WI-FI or a good 4G/5G connection is great! Please keep in mind that other activities such as; TV streaming services and other online platforms such as computer games, can highly impact your internet connection, which further limits your ability to connect successfully with your practitioner during your consultation.

Please ensure that your microphone and camera are both working. You can test this by clicking here https://tools.coviu.com/precall/.

In the event of any technical difficulties that may arise, please have your mobile phone device nearby so we can contact you.

What are some tips for the best experience?

Your video consultation experience will be best if we:

  • ensure that we have a private, quiet, dedicated place for our meeting.
  • make sure that we have all that we need at our fingertips, for example; notes, books, pad, pen and a drink.
  • remove distractions; ensure that the TV, radio, or other computer applications are turned off.
  • have had a few minutes to prepare ourselves before the meeting, so that we are relaxed and focused, not rushed with scattered thoughts.
  • consider this a normal appointment, the same as if visiting a G.P, Dentist or other healthcare professional in their office. We wouldn’t wear our pyjamas to an appointment (though we might like to), so lets keep the space professional.

Is it safe and is my data secure?

Coviu is a safe and secure environment! No data being exchanged in a Coviu call is saved, unless you consent to it. Your Coviu call is encrypted between you and the practitioner, which means that no one can ever be listening into a Coviu call without permissions.

What if I need help?

Please give us a call before your consultation on {insert phone number} if you have any further questions or queries to the information above.

We look forward to caring for you into the future.

Kind regards,

{insert name and signature block}
